5083 Aluminum Sheet Properties
5083 aluminium is an an aluminum alloy containing magnesium and trace amounts of manganese and chromium. It is highly resistant to seawater and industrial chemicals. 5083 aluminum plate still has special strength after welding.
Among the non-heat treatable alloys, 5083 aluminum has the highest strength with an ultimate tensile strength of 317 MPa or 46,000 psi and a tensile yield strength of 228 MPa or 33,000 psi. It is not recommended for use at temperatures above 65 ℃。
5083 aluminum alloy is a high-magnesium alloy with good strength, corrosion resistance and machinability among non-heat-treatable alloys. After anodizing, the surface is beautiful and the arc welding performance is good.
Aluminum-magnesium alloy is the most widely used anti-rust aluminum. The alloy has high strength, especially fatigue strength. This alloy has good plasticity in semi-cold quenching, low plasticity in cold hardening and poor cutting performance.
Applications
5083 is an aluminum-magnesium alloy that is widely used, especially in the construction industry. It is mainly used for low-load parts that require high plasticity and good weldability, and work in liquid or gaseous media, such as fuel tanks, gasoline or lubricating oil conduits, various liquid containers and other small-load parts made by deep drawing.
Excellent corrosion resistance makes 5083 alloy widely used in marine applications such as ships, automobiles and aircraft welding parts, subways and light rails, pressure vessels that require strict fire protection (such as liquid tanker)e,etc.

5083 aluminum is also called GM41, A95083, AIMg 4.5 Mn, Al Mg 4.5 Mn 0.7 and en aw 5083 datasheet.
Tempers
O temper: Soft
H111 temper: some work hardening imparted by the forming process
H32 temper: It is hardened by rolling, then stabilized to a quarter hard by low temperature heat treatment.

Brazeability: Poor
